After an exciting round of regional tournaments across eight regional zones of Afghanistan to select top 26 players for each eight teams of RAPL, it is time for inter-squad matches to  finalize the 21-man squad for each team. It is the final test for the 26 players who have already been selected for the eight RAPL teams.
De Maiwand Atalan played in the Semi-Finals of last year's tournament and lost to De Spinghar Bazan in a thrilling penalty shootout. Atalan's performance have been improving by each year and this year is expected to be no exception. 12  fresh faces will be playing for Atalan this year including some of the important players who used to play for other RAPL teams. Hussain Alizada, Mahruf Mohammadi, Mustafa Afshar who  played for Oqaban Hidukosh, Toofan Harirod, and Shaheen Asmayee respectively will now play for Atalan. And some believe they have their best chance to put up a fight for the Championship title this year.
For players who will get to play for any of the eight teams, this could  be nothing short of a life-changing event. RAPL puts the spotlight on the players and that means more exposure and more opportunities for emerging football talents to excel in their personal and professional football lives.
This year, Afghanistan National Football team's coach and his assistant have already announced their commitment to evaluate players in the RAPL main event matches and invite the promising players to the national team. The 2015 RAPL tournament is set to kick off on August 27 and it will be the biggest football event in Afghanistan yet.
