After 20 days of comprehensive exercises and preparations, Shaheen Asmayee will fly to Dushanbe, Tajikistan today - 25 January, 2017 to compete against Khosilot, a Tajik football club in the the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2017.

Shaheen has been quarantined and supervised by their coach, Boir Igamberdiev, for the last 10 days of training effective January 20, 2017. They will have five more days left to conduct more rehearsals in Dushanbe, Tajikistan before kicking-off their fist-leg match on 31 January, 2017. 

“Though it may be one of the toughest matches we have been through, still we are prepared to face the challenge and keep our competitive appearance against Khosilot FC,” said Shaheen’s well-known striker, Amruddin Sharifi. 

Previously Shaheen’s coach assured Afghan football fans of the team’s high moral and motivation. He said that the players have had enough time to work on their physic, attacking, counter-attacking, and defending skills. 

The team’s first preliminary game against Khosilot will be on 31 January, 2017 at 15:30 pm Tajikistan time in the Republican Central Stadium, Dushanbe. 

On 21 January, 2017, the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) deputy commissioner, Mr. Zia Aria, traveled to Dushanbe to have a talk with Tajik football and AFC Cup 2017 officials on the necessary coordination of this game.
