On Wednesday, January 18, 2017 Boir Igamberdiev, Shaheen Asmayee’s coach arrived in Kabul to supervise the team’s preparation and work on their overall techniques. Mr. Boir is a FIFA licensed Tajik coach who has been Shaheen’s coach for the past three seasons of the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL).
His presence has been admired by the team squad and he has never failed to boost Shaheen’s moral and performance. Under his leadership, Shaheen have won the 2014 RAPL cup, runners-up trophy of the 2015 RAPL, and the 2016 RAPL championship.
The team is currently quarantined for the last 10 days of training effective January 20, 2017.
“It may be one of the toughest games for Shaheen in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2017 as it is their first appearance in the regional stage which is much different from RAPL matches,” said Bior. “However, I and each member of the staff and team are committed to take away the fear and be focused on victory. I am here in Kabul to strengthen the team’s techniques and fill any gap or defects. The focus will be to capitalize any chances,” he added.
As he expressed, Shaheen players are ready to accept any challenge. “All the players are well-prepared, well-trained, and good in physic; yet, the result of football cannot be anticipated.” Boir stressed, “All players are the top ones and put in their ultimate effort, then why not win.”
Despite of snowy weather in Kabul, Shaheen Asmayee never stopped their practices. All are motivated to win a title in the AFC Cup 2017.
Shaheen Asmayee’s first preliminary game against Khosilot, the Tajik Football Club, will be on 31 January, 2017 at 15:30 pm Tajikistan time in the Republican Central Stadium, Dushanbe.
