Masoud Qarizada has been Mawjhai Amu’s captain for the last two seasons. He joined Amu in the first RAPL season in 2012. Since then, he has been improving his game to become on RAPL’s top strikers. He scored 3 goals in his 4 appearances for Amu this season. This year, despite an extremely difficult situation back home, Amu persevered to advance to the semifinals of the 2015 RAPL Main Event for the first time in their history. They won one of their group stage matches and were awarded the 2015 RAPL Fair-Play Award.
Qarizada lives in Kunduz in the north of Afghanistan with his family. He is majoring in economics and wants to finish his degree besides playing football at professional levels. He started playing football 11 years ago while he was a young boy. Currently, he also plays for Kunduz’s top team Peerozi.
Masoud played an important role in helping Amu advance to the semifinals this year. “We are working hard as a team and I hope we make it to the final next year to bring the championship cup to Kunduz for the first time.”
