Peter Segrt spoke to the media after his side dominated and won the game 3-0 against Bhutan to qualify for the semi final.

“We have to respect Bhutan, they played very well. This is history time, because Afghanistan never wins three games in a row. This is for Afghanistan, this is very special”

Speaking of the top of the table clash against Maldives, Segrt said he’s unwilling to change the brand of football his side has been playing and that he wants to top the group.

“We like to play offensive football and we will not change our system for Maldives or India or nobody. For me, everytime I want to be first. This is an easy, simple philosophy”

Segrt also said he considers Amani as a good player but wants to give equal attention to all players in the squad rather than just the top goal scorer of the tournament after 2 games.

Afghanistan now take on Maldives in a clash that will decide who advances from Group B as table toppers. Follow this game on Monday, 28th December,  at 5:30 pm live on TOLO TV and Lemar TV.
