The two Group A teams who have already qualified for the Roshan Afghan Premier League semi-finals, Maiwand Atalan and Spinghar Bazan, faced each other on Tuesday in a rather slow-going match ending in a draw 1:1.
Knowing they have already qualified, perhaps both teams were trying to conserve their energy for next week’s semi-finals.
Spinghar’s forward Abhar Ali was the first to score at the 27 minute mark, then 13 minutes later Atalan’s Abdulwahib Nourzai levelled the match.
The second half of the match saw spectators watched a game between two well-matched teams in terms of skill, but apart from the odd yellow card, they were not treated to much excitement.
In minute 55, Eymal Nouri of Spinghar was given the first yellow card.
Seconds later, the referee pulled out the card again, this time to warn Ajmal Pardiz, who wanted to discuss his decision.
Eimal Nabizada of Spinghar experienced the same fate as his team mates in 63rd minute.
The game ended 1:1.
With this result both teams officially qualified for the semi-finals, both with 7 points.
The Roshan Afghan Premier League will continue on Wednesday with a match from Group B, between Simorgh Alburz and Oqaban Hindukosh.
