August 4, 2016, Kabul – RAPL successfully conducted RAPL Green Field Season 5 in the midst of ongoing security challenges in Afghanistan, from April 7, 2016 to June 18, 2016.
RAPL teams’ managers spoke about their respective teams’ preparations and training programs ahead of RAPL Season 5 at today’s press conference held at AFF. Seven RAPL teams: Shaheen Asmayee, Simorgh Alborz, De Spinghar Bazan, De Abasin Sape, De Maiwand Atalan, Oqaban Hindukosh, and Mawjhai Amu have already arrived in Kabul to conduct their training sessions at Kabul’s AFF Stadium and Ghazi Stadium. During this period ahead of RAPL Season 5 kick-off, Toofan Harirod will continue having their training sessions at Herat’s newly built football stadium.
The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF); Roshan, Afghanistan’s leading total communications provider; and MOBY GROUP, Afghanistan’s largest media conglomerate, are proud to welcome the eight RAPL teams to Kabul. This marks the successful completion of the 2016 RAPL Green Field (Maidan-e-Sabz), regional tournaments across eight regions of Afghanistan to recruit best of each region’s football talents in eight respective RAPL teams.
“In Season 5, we have focused on young and new players who have been recruited in the eight RAPL teams. AFF coaches and technical team have been working with these young players to prepare them for the upcoming games. Our pre-season programs are also different in season 5 compared to the past four seasons. All teams will start their training session with 26 players in their squads. The assistant-coaches who are assigned are also younger compared to the previous seasons.” said Keramuddin Karim, President of AFF.
