The 2016 RAPL Regional Tournament (Green Field) for recruitment of Oqaban Hindukosh players took place from May 30th to June 2nd in Panjshir’s Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim Stadium. Six participating teams in this tournament were each Panjshir A, Panjshir B, Kapisa, Bamyan, Parwan and Daikondi.  Oqaban represents Panjshir, Parwan, Kapisa, Bamyan, and Daikondi provinces of the central region of Afghanistan. 

After an exciting round of games among the six teams over four days, the tournament concluded with Parwan finishing as Champions of the Tournament. Mohammad Mustafa Kohistani of Kapisa claimed Man of the Tournament title and won the exciting prize. 

Zmaray Salangi, Omid Azimi, and Wais Kamgar are Oqaban super stars who are returning to the squad for the 2016 RAPL Main Event. Aimal Gariwal was the captain of Oqaban in 2014; he is making a comeback after a lackluster performance in De Abasin Sape last year. In total, 13 new players have joined  Oqaban’s squad this year. 

Last year, Oqaban managed only one win in the group stage to finish the season with four points and no hope of advancing to the semifinals.
