The women’s championship began with both Kabul and Balkh playing defensively, seizing each other up but it didn’t take long for Madina Azizi to hit her stride, landing a score for Kabul 16 minutes into the first half .

Not wanting to repeat Bamiyan’s mistakes against Kabul, Balkh reinforced their half of the field and made it difficult for Kabul’s top forwards Madina Azizi  and Nelab to create additional scoring opportunities for themselves.

The end of the first half ended in a surprising score of 1 – 0 in favor of Kabul, Balkh had managed to defeat the best of Kabul’s offense in the first half of the match. At the half time break the crowds at the AFF stadium clapped and sang along to a great performance by Afghan star, ArzooNikbeen.

Two minutes into the start of the 2nd half Madina Azizi widened Kabul’s lead with an artful goal, bringing the score to 2 – 0 in favor of Kabul. Balk continued to play a good defensive game with impressive work from their goalie X and defensive line XXX

But if there was a chink in their otherwise impressive armor, it was their goalie’s ability to defend penalty and free kicks. Kabul’s Freshta Shaikh Miriscoed on a free kick in the 41st and Mona Amini scored on a penalty kick at the 63rd minute

By the last ten minutes of the game, Kabul had widened it’s lead to 4  - 0  and at the end of the game clock they emerged as the 2 time in row champions of the RAPL’s women league!

Congratulations Kabul! You’re the 2015 RAPL Women’s League Champions!
