Mawjhai Amu made strides towards becoming a competitive team during the 2014 Roshan Afghan Premier League season by recording their first win ever. On September 18th, in their final match of the season, they defeated De Abasin Sape 2-0 thanks to a couple of goals scored by forward Masoud. Following the game Masoud described what the win meant for his team. "After losing so many games in a row some of the guys on the team forgot what winning felt like. Winning is addictive, and now that we have our first one, we expect to continue this roll through the 2015 season and make a run at the semifinals."

Mawjhai Amu finished third in their group behind RAPL championship finalists Shaheen Asmayee and Oqaban Hindukosh. They managed to put up a fight against both of these powerhouse teams during group play, but ended up losing to both. 5-2 was the final against Oqaban Hindukosh and 4-2 was the final versus Shaheen Asmayee. When asked what the young Amu Waves learned in defeat, forward Lal Pacha said, "we learned that we are capable of competing with the best teams in the league. We need to prolong our effort into a full game and be able to sustain leads to get wins."

Although 2014 did not turn out exactly as planned for Mawjhai Amu, they did record their first win in franchise history. Now that they know what winning feels like they have the opportunity to carry that momentum into next season and challenge for a semifinal spot in 2015.
