Shaheen Asmayee will kick-off its first group stage match in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017 against Chittagong Abahani Ltd at M.A Aziz Stadium of Chittagong, Bangladesh.  The match will take place at 5:30 pm Kabul time.

Shaheen, later, will play the second and third group stage matches on February 22 and 24, 2017 with Monag Marshyangdi Club of Nepal and Mohammadan SC Limited of Bangladesh.

This is the second presence of Shaheen Asmayee in an international event. Previously, the team competed in a two-leg play-off in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2017 at Tajikistan.

“We have learned a lot from the faults and defects we have faced before in AFC Cup 2017 but we are sure that the mistakes will not be repeated in the Sheikh Kamal International Club cup,” said Mujtaba Faiz, Shaheen’s assistant coach. For the second consecutive day, Shaheen conducted its exercise and preparations at Chittagong city.

Today, Coach Boir Igamberdiev critically analyzed the team’s defects and talked on the new strike and counter-strike strategies to avoid any regret in Sheikh Kamal cup. “I have evaluated the players and they seem ready to win a trophy in this cup. All the strategies and defects were analyzed and worked on,” said Bior.

There are three matches, each 3 points, in the group stage of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017 for the participating teams. A total of eight teams— three local and five foreign football clubs—have attended the cup.
