The 10th game of Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) 2016 kicked-off between Shaheen Asmayee and De Maiwand Atalan at the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) today, September 15, 2016. In a breathtaking clash Kabul cruised to a 1-0 victory over Kandahar. The game believed to be one of the toughest competitions in the fifth season so far.

In today’s match, Atalan was inspired to enhance its six accumulated points to assure a spot in the RAPL 2016 semi-finals. However, it did not come as wished. They were the starters of the fixture against Shaheen. Atalan defeated Toofan Harirod and De Abasin Sape in its early games.

The pitch’s first-half ended with no goal. Both teams struggled to score an opening either by relentless strikes or counter-strikes. Mostly, Shaheen conducted attacks which were deterred by Atalan’s defense line or goalkeeper, Sapand. Atalan was praised on avoiding any crack.

However, the tone was not followed in the second-half. The Atalan’s attacks understandably did not get many opportunities, but Shaheen were successful. Ambushing for any opportunity, Shaheen Asmayee’s striker Hashmatullah Barekzai put the ball in his opponent net on the 80 minutes. Later, he was entitled to a red card by referee.

Despite of its excellent play, De Maiwand Atalan conceded 1-0 to Shaheen Asmayee. The game statistics reveal 60 % possession by Shaheen.

Atalan’s player, Saied Ebrahimi honored as the man of the match.

With this victory Shaheen gain a total of six points, advancing to RAPL 2016 semi-finals.
