If you are between 14 and 16 years old and a fan of football, the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) brings you an exciting opportunity to win a two-week scholarship to one of the top soccer schools in one of the countries of the region! Those who are members of the Afghanistan National Team and winners of the previous contest cannot apply for this competition.
Provided with this golden opportunity, the two winners of this contest will learn how to play football with some international standards under the supervision of well-known football coaches/trainers.
The competition is made of 3 challenges, please note that you have to qualify for each level of the challenge before being able to move forward to the next level of the challenge:
Challenge 1: The Question/Essay (August 19 –September 10th)
- Using the form at the bottom of this page, answer the following question in the most thoughtful way (200 words minimums).
- "How sports can play a role in countering violent extremism and promoting national unity in Afghanistan?"
- The essays should be written by the applicants themselves.
Challenge 2: Football Skills challenge 1 (September 17- September20th)
- 68 selected candidates from the previous challenge, (1 male and 1 female from each one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan) will compete against each other in a football skills competition on (28, 29 and 30 August).
- 8 football skills locations representing the 8 main regions of Afghanistan will be setup to welcome the competitors.
- 1 male and 1 female from each region will be able to qualify for the last challenge.
Challenge 3: Football Skills challenge 2 (September 22nd-September 26th)
- Out of the 68 contestants from the challenge 2, 10 contestants will be selected for the challenge 3 which will take place during RAPL semi-finals and finals.
- The 2 winners will be announced live and awarded the grand prize during the half time of the RAPL finals.

- You have to be between 14-16 years old and excel in basic football skills to enter this contest.
- The contest form at the bottom of this page must be filled out completely (name, age, province, school and phone number). In addition, a copy of Takera (National Identity Card) must be attached with the form and the essay.
- The list of contestants who will find way in each stage of this competition will be announced on RAPL website and social media platforms.
Through this contest we hope to encourage the young leaders of tomorrow to focus on their education, health, and to aim for becoming agents of positive change in the future. The contest uniquely ties education and sport to help Afghan youth realize the importance of both. In line with this goal, we look to communicate values that will benefit a child's character growth and development as well as their football technique and skills.
