The second group stage match of the 2017 Afghan Premier League (APL), sixth season, will be kicked-off today at 3:30 pm in the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) stadium. The west zone representatives, Toofan Harirod will encounter the 2016 runners-up, De Maiwand Atalan.
The match will be a challenging tackle for both teams as they seem keen in etching their name on the 2017 APL championship cup. Both teams have been trained and supervised by expert FIFA and AFC licensed coaches from Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Previously, through the APL regional training camps all the eight teams had the chance to enjoy comprehensive practices and drills.
This will be the first match of sixth season’s group “B”. Simorgh Alborz and De Abasin Sape are the other members in group “B”.
De Maiwand Atalan performed prosperously in the 2016 APL, lost no point in group stage and cruised over Majhai Amu in the semi-finals. Later, in a rousing final match, the team was defeated 2-1 by Shaheen Asmayee. This year, however, will be a different chapter for Atalan as the team recruited Amrudin Sharifi of Shaheen, Fardin Hakimi, and Farzad Ataee with other professional APL and national players. With the new squad, Atalan is a strong candidate to win the 2017 championship title.
Toofan Harirod had the advantage of exercising on the artificial turf of football in Herat province. The team added dedicated and determined players to its squad this year to claim its 2012 title.
The match will be broadcasted LIVE on TOLO TV and Lemar TV and simulcast on Arman FM, Arakozia FM as well as online via the APL Official YouTube Channel. Follow APL YouTube page (www.youtube.com/afghanpremierleague) for the match highlights.
