Paktia province in the south of Afghanistan is one of the least secure provinces in Afghanistan. Every time it has been on the news, it has been for the unfortunate security incidences. This time it was different, Paktia hit the headlines for hosting one of the most exciting regional tournaments of 2015 Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL).
Football teams from Khost, Logar, Paktia, Ghazni, Paktika, and Maidan Wardak provinces took part in six inter-squad matches during this tournament from June 4th-6th. Young players from these teams exhibited their best football skills with the high hopes of making it to the list of top 26 players for De Abasin Sape.
Akhliddin Turdyev, the international coach of the team selected the top players with the support of Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) staff. The final list for top 26 players was announced on June 7th.
Although, this tournament faced an initial delay due to security reasons, it didn't hinder the enthusiasm of locals to come support the teams and celebrate the tournament with the full joy and love of football.
