Soon, De Maiwand Atalan focused on dragging back to the title race of RAPL 2016. Using slick passes and assaults, Faiz Faizi netted the equalizer goal on 18 minutes. Subsequently, on 31 minutes, Atalan’s second goal was scored by Yar Mohammad Zakar Khail.

The first-half ended 2-1 in favor of De Maiwand Atalan.

Returning to the AFF ground, Atalan’s clever substitution led it to a second-half goal by Mateen Yousofzai on 46 minutes. Atalan tried to take advantage of several strikers and counter-strikes; however, all deterred.

Mawjhai Amu approached the game to recover the deficit in the second-half. Though majority of its chances failed or averted, Abdul Jabar Arabzada scored the second goal on 89 minutes.
